Baseball Recap: Windermere Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with the First Academy

Windermere faced The First Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolverines took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 last Friday.

Randy Ruiz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Joey Waddingham, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Windermere's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6. As for The First Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Windermere wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-1 victory against Freedom on the 15th. As for The First Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 6-1 win against Bishop Moore on the 10th.
