Softball Preview: Westview Wildcats vs. Nelson

The Westview Wildcats will take on Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Westview didn't have quite enough to beat McMinnville and fell 5-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Nelson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Aloha on Monday. Nelson was the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over Aloha.

Addison Osterholm and Emma Hazel did most of the damage at the plate: Osterholm scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Hazel scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Hazel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Huspek, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Nelson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Westview's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Nelson, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.
