Football Recap: North Forest Bulldogs vs. Aldine Mustangs
North Forest was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Aldine on Thursday. The Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 53-12. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 14-7 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
Lashun Gray had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 99 yards and three TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing. His longest rush was for an incredible 89 yards.
Gray was just one part of a punishing run game: North Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aldine only rushed for 11 rushing yards.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Da'Veon Perkins, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
The victory got North Forest back to even at 1-1. As for Aldine, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Coming up, North Forest will face off against Wheatley at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. The contest will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Aldine, they have already played their next game, a 42-7 loss against Northbrook on the 11th.
