Franklin Academy is 7-2 against Beekmantown since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Franklin Academy turned things around against Gouverneur on Tuesday. They snuck past the Wildcats with a 54-49 win.

Brad Poupore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Hanna, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beekmantown). They were the clear victor by a 63-40 margin over Saranac on Tuesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Spartans are ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beekmantown now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Franklin Academy, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.

Franklin Academy beat Beekmantown 60-49 when the teams last played on December 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
