Volleyball Recap: State College's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of six wins, State College's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Canon-McMillan Big Macs. If the Little Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Big Macs when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While State College ultimately came up short, they really made Canon-McMillan work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Amanda Ciolli, who had 16 digs and one assist.

State College's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Canon-McMillan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

State College will host Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canon-McMillan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against North Catholic on the 18th.
