Basketball Recap: Haferny Diaz Key Part of Team Effort in Buffaloes Win

While Sunrise Christian Academy's win against Legacy School of Sport Sciences wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Buffaloes had just enough and edged out the Titans 73-71. The victory continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunrise Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haferny Diaz, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Diaz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Iyzrel Graham, who posted 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Sunrise Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Legacy School of Sport Sciences, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Sunrise Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 71-56 loss against Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Gold on the 13th. As for Legacy School of Sport Sciences, they will be home for the holidays to greet Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
