Softball Recap: Calvary Chapel Has No Trouble Against Compton Early College

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Calvary Chapel had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Compton Early College Rising Phoenix 17-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Sarah Ochoa and Madilynn Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Ochoa went 3-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base, while Hernandez got on base in four of her nine plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sofia Fisher, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Calvary Chapel's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Compton Early College, they dropped their record down to 12-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Calvary Chapel nor the Rising Phoenix have any future games scheduled.
