Prospect took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Piedmont Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pirates on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won ten matches in a row.

Kendall Tabora spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Prospect's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Slezak, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another was Dani Rauscher, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Prospect pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Piedmont Hills, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.3, the Acorns 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Piedmont Hills will square off against rival Silver Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
