            Softball Recap: Forestview Jaguars vs. Lincolnton Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Forestview  took care of business in their home opener  (barely) on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Lincolnton Wolves. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered  an  11-9  loss the last time these two teams met.

 Olivia Hensley spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 On the hitting side,  Lily Cabe and  Emily Lowrance did most of the damage at the plate:  Cabe  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3, while  Lowrance  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.  Kaitlyn Baker was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Lincolnton dropped their record down to 0-2 with the  defeat, which was their tenth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Forestview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  an  8-3  loss against East Gaston on the 28th. As for Lincolnton, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  an  11-1  defeat against Bunker Hill on the 4th.
