Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Bulldogs vs. The Covenant Eagles

On Tuesday, Liberty Christian made easy work of Rustburg and carried off a 56-34 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for The Covenant, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Matoaca by a score of 63-50 on Monday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Warriors are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Liberty Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for The Covenant, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-5.
