Recap: Powdersville Patriots vs. Riverside Warriors
It was a good run, but the Powdersville Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 55-48 to Riverside. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Powdersville has scored all season.
Powdersville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hayden Assemian, who scored 14 points. Caden Kreger was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Powdersville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Powdersville's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Riverside, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Powdersville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wren at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Wren knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Powdersville likes a good challenge. Riverside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
