Baseball Game Preview: West Warwick Wizards vs. Central Knights

The West Warwick Wizards will head out on the road to challenge the Central Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on West Warwick, who comes in off a win.

West Warwick is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: St. Raphael Academy, who was ranked 18th at the time (West Warwick was ranked 19th). The Wizards narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Saints 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wizards have posted since May 7th.

West Warwick's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Andruchow, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They fell just short of East Greenwich by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for West Warwick, their record now sits at 16-8.
