Basketball Recap: Red Cloud Skates Past Elba with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Red Cloud over Elba in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Red Cloud Warriors blew the Elba Bluejays out of the water with a 67-24 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Cloud to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Brown, who posted 13 points. Aiva Rust was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Despite the loss, Elba had strong showings from Addison Wysocki, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds, and JarahLynn Morrow, who had six points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Red Cloud, bringing their record for this year to 6-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.5 points. As for Elba, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Cloud will square off against Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elba, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Elba Bluejays challenge the Nebraska Christian Eagles on Tuesday.
