East Duplin hadn't done well against Princeton recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 42-20 margin over the Bulldogs. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Panthers were the (much) better team in the second half.

East Duplin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zachary Ball and Nickolas Davis.

Teo McPhatter and Gerell Bogle certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McPhatter rushed for 145 yards and two scores, while Bogle rushed for 139 yards and one TD while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Bogle didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made two total tackles.

East Duplin has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points this season. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
