Basketball Recap: Clinton Drops Season-High Score on Leake Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton). They came out on top against the Leake Central Gators by a score of 76-68 on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Arrows' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Gators are ranked ninth).

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Leake Central, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will take on Raymond on Friday. Raymond has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Leake Central, they will challenge Kosciusko at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leake Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Kosciusko likes a good challenge.
