 Mater Academy Charter lost to St. Brendan  back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Mater Academy Charter Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Brendan Sabres  and snuck past  6-5. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Mater Academy Charter.
 Mater Academy Charter got a great performance from  Kevin Roque as he  pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits.
 At the plate,  Jonathan Esponda and  Brandon Lorenzo did most of the damage at the plate:  Esponda  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, a  stolen base,  and two  RBI, while  Lorenzo  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Isreal Garcia was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with a  triple and two  RBI.
 On St. Brendan's side,  Luis Suarez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Kevin Leon, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Mater Academy Charter has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record  this season. As for St. Brendan, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Academy Charter will  take on Dr. Krop at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for St. Brendan, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Palmer Trinity at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. St. Brendan is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.1  runs per game this season.
