Basketball Game Preview: Lake Region Christian Hornets vs. Woodcrest Baptist Academy

The Lake Region Christian Hornets will venture away from home to take on Woodcrest Baptist Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Region Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lake Region Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Maplewood Academy 50-32 on Tuesday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Region Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aleah DeVries, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards DeVries has posted since back in March of 2024. Blair Alquist was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Lake Region Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Woodcrest Baptist Academy came up short against First Baptist back in January and fell 42-31.

Woodcrest Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lake Region Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-13.

Lake Region Christian suffered a grim 61-39 defeat to Woodcrest Baptist Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lake Region Christian was down 61-39.
