South Laurel came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Clay County Tigers 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 20 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

South Laurel's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Clay County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

South Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clay County, they will welcome Jackson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
