Baseball Recap: Eldorado Takes a Loss

Eldorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-6 to the Christoval Cougars. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Malik Arispe and Landon McSherry did some serious damage despite the final result: Arispe scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while McSherry scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. McSherry is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Christoval, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eldorado will face off against Sonora at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.82 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Christoval, they will head out on the road to take on Miles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
