Recap: Bellevue Eagles vs. Jacksboro Tigers
The Bellevue Eagles were the 69-48 winner over the Jacksboro Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bellevue was dealt a 65-34 loss at the hands of Jacksboro on Thursday. Bellevue has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jacksboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lando Belcher led the charge by scoring ten points along with eight assists and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cannon Valenzuela, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Bellevue has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Jacksboro, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Bellevue will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Windthorst at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. The timing is sure in Windthorst's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Bellevue has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Jacksboro and Midway will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Midway is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
