Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Jordan Beetdiggers

The Hillcrest Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Jordan Beetdiggers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season.

Hillcrest is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Park City: they outscored them in every quarter. Hillcrest put the hurt on Park City with a sharp 76-51 win on Tuesday. The Huskies pushed the score to 60-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Miners had little chance of recovering from.

Hillcrest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Mahler, who posted 18 points along with five assists and five boards. That's the most points Mahler has posted since back in November of 2024. Guillermo Martinez was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Jordan beat Tooele 57-47 on Tuesday.

Hillcrest pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Everything went Hillcrest's way against Jordan in their previous meeting on January 7th, as Hillcrest made off with a 71-51 win. In that match, Hillcrest amassed a halftime lead of 40-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
