Riverdale Ridge dropped their record down to 17-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Cherry Creek Bruins. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Ravens, who until this matchup were averaging 3.58 runs allowed.

Tyler Swan was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Cherry Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

Tyce Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Riverdale Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-4 victory against Northfield on the 17th. As for Cherry Creek, they have also already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Denver North on the 17th.
