Baseball Recap: North Montgomery Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Montgomery ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos, sneaking past 5-4. The Chargin' Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bronchos, too.

The team relied heavily on Aiden Ambriz-Cruz, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for North Montgomery: the team is 9-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Tucker Hinds also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

North Montgomery's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Montgomery will welcome Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they will be playing at home against McCutcheon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
