Jackson Prep has gone 9-1 against Hartfield Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Patriots will square off against the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Jackson Prep will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Jackson Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past St. Joseph Catholic 19-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won seven in a row.
Jake Bailey looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kevin Roberts, JR and Gardner Young did most of the damage at the plate: Roberts, JR went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Young went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Young a new career-high. Carson Powell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Jackson Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Catholic only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Hartfield Academy won against Jackson Academy on Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Hawks beat the Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-1. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Woods Roberson tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, Hartfield Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Howard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another was Graham Jackson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Hartfield Academy pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson Prep, their record is now 16-7-1.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jackson Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Hartfield Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jackson Prep might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Hartfield Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
