Football Recap: Granite City Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Granite City fell victim to Cahokia and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 62-0 defeat at the hands of the Comanches. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Comanches are ranked 104th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cahokia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nigel Gooden, who threw for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes. Hartles Holman also helped out with an impressive 101 receiving yards.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cahokia, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Granite City will square off against Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cahokia, they will face off against Carbondale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Comanches their first taste of in-conference action this season.
