Football Game Preview: Currituck County Knights vs. Martin County Gators

The Currituck County Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Martin County Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Currituck County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Currituck County is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Hertford County: they outscored them in every quarter. The Knights were the clear victors by a 37-14 margin over the Bears on Friday. Considering the Knights have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jamie Dance was his usual excellent self, throwing for 219 yards and two TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Luka Britt got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Currituck County, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Britt, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Martin County got themselves on the board against Pasquotank County on Friday, but Pasquotank County never followed suit. They took down the Panthers 14-0.

Currituck County's record now sits at 6-1. As for Martin County, their record is now 5-2.
