Recap: Freire Charter Dragon vs. Kennett Blue Demons
On Wednesday, Freire Charter was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-53 to Kennett. Freire Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Dragon players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ibrahim Mahmoud, who scored 20 points along with five assists and three steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Abdul Lo, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Freire Charter's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Kennett, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-5.
Freire Charter will head out on the road to face off against Prep Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Prep Charter is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Kennett will take on Freire Charter School Wilmington at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Freire Charter School Wilmington comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
