Softball Recap: Beardstown Comes Up Short

Beardstown lost against Pleasant Plains back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell 9-4 to the Cardinals. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Beardstown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Kearns, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those RBI were Kearns' first of the season. Kylynn Maltby was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Beardstown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pleasant Plains, they pushed their record up to 4-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Beardstown will host Jacksonville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasant Plains, they will challenge Tournament Opponent on Saturday.
