Basketball Game Preview: SA Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Brandeis Broncos

SA Roosevelt is 2-8 against Brandeis since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders will venture away from home to take on the Brandeis Broncos at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, SA Roosevelt ended up a good deal behind Clark and lost 62-43. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Cougars are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, Brandeis posted their biggest win since November 22, 2024 on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 73-52 margin over Madison.

SA Roosevelt better focus on containing Sean Tisdall and Finley Montoya as the pair were huge in Brandeis' win. Tisdall went 8 of 11 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds, while Montoya went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points along with three steals and three blocks. The match was Tisdall's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmen Gonzales, who posted 12 points.

SA Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Brandeis, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

SA Roosevelt ended up a good deal behind Brandeis in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 75-61. Can SA Roosevelt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
