Baseball Recap: Desert Christian Wins Going Away Against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy

Desert Christian won the last time they faced Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Desert Christian Knights blew past Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy 14-4.

Jason Main was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Andrew Silva was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mount, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Desert Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy only posted an OBP of .308.

Desert Christian now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
