Recap: Detroit Eagles vs. Leverett's Chapel Lions

The Detroit Eagles's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They managed a 61-57 victory over Leverett's Chapel. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Leverett's Chapel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaggar Ward, who scored 17 points. Ward scored a full 29.8% of Leverett's Chapel's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Williams, who scored 16 points.

Detroit's victory bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Leverett's Chapel, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Detroit will face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Detroit in Texas (Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 853rd, while Detroit is ranked 1734th). Leverett's Chapel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tyler Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
