Rockingham County put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They never let the Atkins Camels get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Nick Rumbley was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since April 1st. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Deel, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Brady Ross was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Rockingham County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in three consecutive games.

Rockingham County's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Atkins, they moved to 9-16 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
