Baseball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. St. Augustine Saints

For the second straight game, Coronado will face off against St. Augustine. The Islanders will take on the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Coronado has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 10.

On Wednesday, Coronado didn't have quite enough to beat St. Augustine and fell 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the Islanders have lost by exactly two runs.

For St. Augustine's part, they let Nathan Balkenbush and Mikey Ruiz run wild. Balkenbush went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ruiz went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Ruiz a new career-high.

With the win, St. Augustine broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-17. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-20.
