Volleyball Recap: Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech Takes a Loss

Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northeastern Eagles. While the Griffins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-19 in the first set.

Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 20-18.

Joelle Hegge paced Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech's offense, picking up 19 kills. Hegge got some help from Claire Donohue and her 24 assists. Lauren Otts controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Kailey Jones went supernova For Northeastern., getting 21 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave Jones a new career-high. Lilley Jackson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Northeastern, they moved to 6-13 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Currituck County on the 13th. As for Northeastern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Martin County on the 9th.
