Volleyball Recap: Burr Oak Falls Despite Big Games from Makaila Hines and Linda Ultz

Burr Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers, falling 3-0. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Tigers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-11, 25-7.

Linda Ultz and Makaila Hines certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Ultz had 12 digs and six assists, while Hines had nine digs.

Burr Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6-3.

Burr Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Bellevue on the 30th. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Eaton Rapids on the 27th.
