Mountain Valley is 1-8 against Monmouth Academy since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcons will head out to face off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Mountain Valley came up short against Spruce Mountain and fell 9-4.

Kyanah Wing made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Emma Williamson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Monmouth Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Oak Hill with a sharp 13-6 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Monmouth Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Mountain Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Mountain Valley might still be hurting after the 18-4 defeat they got from Monmouth Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
