Baseball Game Preview: Burges Mustangs vs. Jefferson Silver Foxes

The Burges Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Burges has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, Burges came up short against Chapin and fell 11-7. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon Alcala made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Jefferson lost 14-2 to Andress on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Silver Foxes have suffered against the Eagles since March 27, 2021.

Jefferson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eden Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Jefferson has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Burges, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-2.
