Baseball Recap: Kealakehe Victorious

Kealakehe's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Kea'au Cougars by a score of 7-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rome Joaquin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Joaquin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Elijah Sunderman was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Kealakehe's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Kea'au, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
