Basketball Recap: Collins Hill Eagles vs. Mountain View Bears
The Collins Hill Eagles had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Mountain View 46-28 on Tuesday. Given Collins Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Bears are ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Paris Fillingame continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring nine points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Imari Brewer was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Collins Hill's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12. As for Mountain View, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-19.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collins Hill will take on the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Buford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 21 games -- so hopefully the Eagles like a good challenge. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
