Softball Recap: Brookville Comes Up Short

Brookville entered their game against Punxsutawney on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Raiders lost 13-1 to the Chucks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Brookville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan McKinney, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Brookville now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Punxsutawney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Brookville will square off against Karns City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gremlins have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Punxsutawney, they will host Clearfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
