Basketball Recap: Vienna Eagles vs. Trico Pioneers
The Vienna Eagles stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 66-23 victory over Trico. The win was nothing new for Vienna as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Trico lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Greta Jones, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. Whitney Lovel was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Vienna has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Trico, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vienna will square off against the Blackcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Goreville will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Trico, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
