Softball Recap: Wood Has No Trouble Against Rosemont

Wood won the last time they faced Rosemont and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 14-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Wood got a massive performance out of Sophie Rivera, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Rivera a new career-high. Abigail Sova was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Wood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Wood pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Rosemont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Wood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Bella Vista on the 14th. As for Rosemont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-6 loss against Del Campo on the 14th.
