Football Recap: Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets vs. Sacred Heart Trojans

Catholic of Pointe Coupee put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Sacred Heart Trojans 31-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Catholic of Pointe Coupee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jude Morrison, who threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown. Morrison also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making two total tackles. Another receiver making a difference was Brooks Capps, who picked up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Parker Jewell, Kooper Burke, and Edwin Williams picked up one apiece.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee's defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so Opelousas Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sacred Heart, they will venture away from home to challenge Berchmans Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
