Basketball Recap: Gooding Comes Up Short

Gooding suffered their biggest defeat since December 20, 2024 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 58-29 loss at the hands of the Filer Wildcats. The Senators were down 48-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Gooding saw an underclassman step up: freshman Camryn Rycraft dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Rycraft has posted since back in December of 2024.

Gooding has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Filer, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

While Gooding had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
