Basketball Recap: Chase Hibbard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Timber Creek over Winter Park

Timber Creek lost against Winter Park back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Timber Creek Wolves fell to the Winter Park Wildcats 42-36. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 49th).

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Hibbard, who posted seven points. Dontae Verderber was another key player, putting up three points.

Timber Creek dropped their record down to 12-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Winter Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Timber Creek has already played their next contest (against West Orange), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Winter Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-31 victory against Lake Nona on the 17th.
