Softball Recap: Fonda-Fultonville Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Fonda-Fultonville had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 18-1 to the Niskayuna Silver Warriors.

Fonda-Fultonville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellana Dineen, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

The victory got Niskayuna back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Fonda-Fultonville will challenge Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Valley Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Niskayuna, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Saratoga Springs at 4:15 p.m. The Blue Streaks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Silver Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
