Football Recap: Plant City Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Plant City had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They slipped by the Blake Yellow Jackets 21-20. Things were looking grim for the Raiders in the second quarter (they were down by 20) but they stormed back to get the matchup.

The critical scores for Plant City came from Taevion Parker, Terrance Queen, and Ta'Vare Miller.

Plant City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Masiyah Limehouse. Da'Zariyan Jenkins was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Despite the loss, Blake still got an impressive performance from Elijah Newman Hall, who rushed for 114 yards and one TD. Newman Hall's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Coming up, Plant City will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Durant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blake, they will head out on the road to take on Bloomingdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
