Baseball Game Preview: Milton Panthers vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins

The Milton Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Gulf Breeze will come in with seven straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Milton duked it out with West Florida on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2.

Milton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Albrecht, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Tate typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Gulf Breeze proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Aggies get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Dolphins have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Roman Jackson, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tanner Owens, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Gulf Breeze pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Milton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Milton couldn't quite finish off Gulf Breeze in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
