Baseball Game Preview: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Rangely Panthers

The Rye Thunderbolts are taking a road trip to square off against the Rangely Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Rye and eight for Rangely.

Rye fell victim to Buena Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 21-0 to the Demons.

Meanwhile, Rangely came up short against Buena Vista on Friday, falling 19-4.

Landon Bollinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Rye's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Rangely, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rye has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rangely struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts.
