Recap: Sage Hill Lightning vs. Flintridge Prep Wolves
On Friday, The Sage Hill Lightning faced the Flintridge Prep Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sage Hill took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flintridge Prep. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Sage Hill still got an impressive performance from Danyel Khan, who picked up 163 receiving yards and a touchdown. Khan is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Dilotta, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Noah Willingham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Flintridge Prep, rushing for 382 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 18.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 47 receiving yards. Willingham's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Sage Hill to a paltry 98 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Flintridge Prep's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Nico Chapman and his three sacks.
Sage Hill has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Flintridge Prep, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sage Hill will take on Windward at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Flintridge Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chadwick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chadwick's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches.
